*Gov. Oborevwori Unveils DESTMA’s New Fleet, Launches Intelligence & Provost Units to Boost Road Safety

Governor Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori officially rolled out freshly acquired and refurbished operational vehicles for the Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA) and inaugurated its Intelligence and Provost Units at the DESTMA headquarters in Asaba.
The newly deployed fleet will dramatically cut response times and expand patrol coverage across the state’s highways.
The Intelligence & Provost Units Specialized teams now monitor traffic violations, enforce discipline, and conduct proactive surveillance to curb reckless driving.
The Governor, represented by Transport Commissioner *Onoriode Agofure*, stressed that DESTMA and the Ministry will operate as a unified front to deliver the *MORE Agenda* for safer, efficient transport.
“The new vehicles and units are game‑changers for road safety and compliance,” said Commissioner Agofure.
“Our focus is on proactive surveillance and a disciplined driving culture,” added DG Okiemute.
DESTMA Director‑General *Hon. Benjamin Okiemute* was commended for institutional strengthening and fostering a disciplined driving culture.
