*DELSU’s 117th Inaugural Lecture: Prof. Awhefeada to Illuminate the Evolution of Modern Nigerian Literature*
On *Thursday, 15 January 2026*, the academic community of *Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka*, will gather for the *117th Inaugural Lecture*. The distinguished speaker, *Prof. Sunny Awhefeada*, Dean of the Postgraduate School and a renowned scholar of African and Nigerian literature, will deliver a thought‑provoking address titled *“The Literature of Our State: An Evolutionary Engagement with Modern Nigerian Literature.”*
In this lecture, Prof. Awhefeada will explore how Nigerian literature reflects the nation’s history, identity, and contemporary challenges, offering fresh perspectives on the dynamic interplay between literary art and societal evolution.
The event will take place at the *750A Lecture Theatre, Site III*, under the chairmanship of *Vice‑Chancellor Prof. Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba*.
