The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.), Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA has congratulated Comrade Henry Ubus on his emergence as the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ughelli Correspondents Chapel during their chapel’s congress held in Ughelli today, Thursday, 28/01/26.
In a congratulatory message, the Udu Council boss described the development as well, noting that he was not surprised by the outcome in view of Ubus’ dedication and professionalism in journalism.
Oyibode said the new office is another feather added to the cap of the seasoned media practitioner who has consistently demonstrated commitment and diligence in the discharge of his duties.
He prayed that God would grant Comrade Ubus wisdom, strength, and sound judgment to succeed in his new responsibility. The Chairman also thanked members of the NUJ Ughelli Correspondents Chapel for the confidence reposed in him, expressing optimism that his tenure would further strengthen the union.
Who is Comrade Henry Aghogho Ubuvwerorose, the newly elected NUJ Secretary, Ughelli Correspondence Chapel?
Comrade Henry Aghogho Ubuvwerorose popularly known as Comr. Ubus is a distinguished media practitioner, Unionist, and grassroots mobilizer with a strong background in student leadership and professional journalism.
Comr. Ubus was a former Students’ Union Government President at the College of Education, Warri, where he successfully built the SUG Secretariat, a legacy project named after him. He later proceeded to Delta State University, Abraka, where he contested and won as Faculty Secretary. He also emerged as the National President (Ovie) of the National Association of Urhobo Students at Delta State University, Abraka.
Professionally, he served as Assistant Secretary of the National Association of Urhobo Professional Orators. He is a graduate of the International Institute of Journalism, Maiduguri, which further strengthened his competence in media and communication.
Comr. Ubus is known for resilience, discipline, and commitment to service. His leadership style usually reflects dedication to unity, development, and advocacy. As the newly elected Secretary of the NUJ Ughelli Correspondents Chapel, his major commitment will be to promote professionalism, strengthen unity among members, protect the welfare of journalists, and uphold the ethics of the journalism profession.
