Leaders and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State have denied reports claiming that a vote of no confidence was passed on the party’s LGA Chairman, Hon. Moses Ojanoma Sunday.
Speaking during an emergency meeting at the party secretariat in Ughelli, Hon. Moses Ojanoma described the report as false and misleading. He said no such decision was taken at any recognised meeting of the party in the area.
He urged members to stay united and ignore rumours that could cause division or weaken the party’s structure.
Party leaders, including ward chairmen and executives, also dismissed the claim, saying the chairman still enjoys the full support of members across all wards.
They described the report as the work of a few unhappy individuals trying to create confusion within the party.
The LGA Organising Secretary, Comrade Emmanuel Edema, explained that the ADC constitution clearly outlines the process for removing any party official, adding that none of those steps had been taken against the chairman.
“The report is not true and is only meant to mislead the public and cause tension within the party,” he said.
Also speaking, Orogun Ward 2 Secretary, Hebrew Ekana, and the ward chairman, Godwin Akporere, reaffirmed their loyalty to Hon. Ojanoma, noting that those behind the claim are not part of the current party leadership in Ughelli North.
The LGA Youth Leader, Comrade Kingsley Olise, also expressed support for the chairman, praising his efforts in strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
At the end of the meeting, stakeholders passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Moses Ojanoma Sunday, reaffirming their support for his leadership and commitment to the unity and progress of the party in the area.
