The Federal Government has announced that Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, will be public holidays for Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims on completing their month-long fasting and urged them to continue practicing love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice.
He also called on all Nigerians to pray for the country’s peace, unity, and prosperity during the festive period.
The minister encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and help the less privileged.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting national unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
