Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has been honoured with the traditional title of “Garkuwa Gamji” by the Gamji Emirate.
The title was conferred on him by Alhaji Farouq Umar during a ceremony that recognized his efforts in promoting unity and cooperation across Nigeria.
At the event, Dafinone expressed gratitude for the honour, describing it as a reminder of the need for national unity and shared purpose. He said his relationship with the Emirate spans many years.
The senator also recalled his family’s long-standing ties with the institution, noting that he often represented his late father at its events.
According to him, his father, a former senator, played a key role in building bridges between Northern Nigeria and the South-South region.
Dafinone reaffirmed his commitment to unity, cooperation, and mutual respect in his public service.
Meanwhile, he has also been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of the Arewa Gamji Emirate Royal Council, a role that will see him contribute to promoting national integration.
