The Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, HRM Wilson Ojakovo, has declared his full support for the upcoming 3rd edition of the Advocate Annual Lecture Series.
The monarch also expressed his readiness to attend the event and prayed for its success.
Oharisi III gave his blessing when a delegation from Advocate Publication Ltd, led by its Managing Director and Publisher, Shedrack Onitsha, visited him to formally invite him and brief him on the programme.
Speaking during the visit, the royal father praised the lecture series, describing it as a timely platform to discuss important national issues affecting Nigerians.
He added that such initiatives encourage meaningful dialogue and contribute to societal development.
He further prayed that the lecture series would continue to grow and eventually gain international recognition, attracting global experts and policymakers.
The event, organised by Advocate Publication Ltd, is scheduled for April 16, 2026, at Wetland Hotel in Ughelli, Delta State.
With the theme, “From Ballot to Patronage: Why Electoral Victory Fails to Deliver Good Governance in Nigeria,” the lecture will focus on why election victories often do not translate into effective governance, highlighting challenges like patronage politics and weak institutions.
The keynote address will be delivered by Charles Apoki, while Patrick Muoboghare will chair the occasion.
Expected guests include Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, and businessman O’tega Emerhor.
Other speakers billed for the event are Barrister Omemiroro Ogedegbe, CSP Omosetemi Agbede-Zuokumor, and Chief Monday Ogheneruona Itoghor, while veteran journalist Abraham Ogbodo will moderate the session.
Organisers say the lecture series remains a strong platform for discussing governance and national development, bringing together key stakeholders to find solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.
The monarch’s endorsement is expected to boost the event as preparations continue for what promises to be a major gathering in Delta State.
