Distinguished Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has been conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Olodi of Aviara Kingdom in a colourful ceremony held at the palace of the Ovie of Aviara Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area.
The honour was bestowed by His Royal Majesty, Michael Efeareduo Ebobo, in recognition of the senator’s outstanding performance, effective representation, and commitment to the development of Delta South at the 10th National Assembly.
According to the monarch, the title reflects both a reward for service and the kingdom’s pride in one of its distinguished sons.
He noted that the senator’s achievements have strengthened the bond between his leadership and the aspirations of the Aviara people.
The ceremony attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, and community stakeholders, who described the honour as well-deserved, citing the senator’s track record in legislative impact and grassroots empowerment.
