The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled its State Congress for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
According to a statement released by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., the congress will take place at the Cenotaph along High Court Road, Asaba, and is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
The exercise, the party noted, is being conducted in accordance with the APC constitution and the guidelines approved by the National Working Committee for nationwide congresses.
The State Working Committee, led by Elder Omeni Sobotie, has called on statutory delegates, key stakeholders, and party leaders from across Delta State to participate in the congress.
Those expected to attend include the Governor and Deputy Governor, members of the National Advisory Council from the state, the State Chairman and members of the State Executive Committee, as well as serving and former members of the National Assembly.
Also invited are members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), current and former members of the Delta State House of Assembly, elected local government chairmen and their deputies, and all councillors across the state.
In addition, party chairmen, secretaries, and members of Local Government Area Executive Committees are required to attend. Each of the 270 wards in the state will be represented by five delegates, including two women members of the Zonal Executive Committee, alongside ward executives such as the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Woman Leader, Youth Leader, and Special Leader.
Furthermore, all leaders who were invited to the Stakeholders’ Meeting held on January 23, 2026, are expected to be present at the congress.
The party reaffirmed its dedication to its “Renewed Hope for M.O.R.E Agenda” and urged members to turn out in large numbers to ensure a successful state congress.
