Senator Ede Dafinone has congratulated Solomon Val Arenyeka on his election as Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the outcome of the party’s State Congress as a turning point for the party in the State. The State Congress was held in Asaba on March 3, 2026.
In a statement personally signed, Senator Dafinone praised the peaceful and transparent conduct of the congress, saying it showed the party’s commitment to internal democracy and unity.
He said the new State Working Committee (SWC) has a serious responsibility to strengthen the party across Delta State, especially as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the emergence of the new leadership reflects the desire of party members for unity, discipline and focused governance within the APC.
Dafinone urged the new chairman and his team to promote reconciliation, unite members, and build strong grassroots structures in all 25 local government areas of the state.
He stressed that unity must remain the party’s main focus as it prepares for future political contests.
He also called for strategic mobilisation, effective communication and strong commitment to progressive ideals to position the APC as a credible alternative in Delta State.
The senator reaffirmed his readiness to work closely with Arenyeka and the new executive committee to advance the party’s vision and promote development and prosperity for the people of Delta State.
