The Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has sent a message of hope and renewal to Christians as they celebrate Easter.
In his Easter message, Guwor said the season reminds believers of the love, sacrifice, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which brings hope even in difficult times.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker urged Christians to live by the teachings of Christ, including love, humility, forgiveness, sacrifice, and faith, in order to build a better and more peaceful society.
He described Easter as the foundation of the Christian faith, stressing that it shows that light can overcome darkness and life can triumph over death.
Guwor also noted that despite the many challenges facing Nigeria and the world, people must remain united and committed to peace, security, and progress.
He called on citizens and leaders to use the Easter season as a time to reflect, support one another, and work together for a brighter future.
The Speaker further assured that State Assemblies across the country remain committed to making laws that promote good governance, social justice, and economic development.
He encouraged Nigerians to live in harmony, regardless of religion, tribe, or background, and prayed that the resurrection of Christ would bring hope, healing, and lasting peace to all.
Guwor ended by wishing Christians in Nigeria and around the world a joyful Easter celebration.
