The Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor congratulated Muslims across the country on the successful completion of Ramadan, describing the season as a reminder of empathy, kindness, and generosity.
He prayed that Allah accepts the prayers and sacrifices of the faithful, forgives their shortcomings, and grants Nigeria lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
Guwor urged Nigerians, especially Muslims, to continue practicing the virtues learned during Ramadan, stressing the need for tolerance and harmony to promote national development.
He also called on citizens to support democratic institutions and remain united across ethnic, religious, and political lines.
The Speaker encouraged Deltans to sustain their support for the “Renewed Hope for More” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
He reaffirmed the commitment of State Houses of Assembly to promoting good governance, peace, and development across Nigeria.
