The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has presented a proposed ₦15,765,689,606.40 budget for the 2026 fiscal year to the Legislative Arm for consideration and approval.
The proposal is designed to strengthen ongoing development efforts and address key needs of the people across the council area.
A breakdown of the budget shows a recurrent expenditure of ₦7,431,365,960.33 and a capital expenditure of ₦8,318,647,041.31, bringing the total estimate to ₦15.7 billion.
Presenting the budget, Ogorugba reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent resource management and people-oriented governance.
He stated that priority would be given to critical sectors such as security, human capital development, youth and women empowerment, healthcare delivery, and infrastructure.
Highlighting key projects captured in the budget, the chairman listed the renovation of primary healthcare centres across several communities, completion of residential quarters for principal council officials, completion of the Otor-Igho Cottage Hospital, and renovation and furnishing of the legislative complex.
Other projects include the dualization of key roads linking the local government to the Ozoro–Kwale Expressway, aimed at improving connectivity and boosting economic activities.
Ogorugba also appreciated the support and cooperation of the legislative arm, noting that the proposed budget aligns with the broader development agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. He appealed for speedy consideration and passage of the appropriation bill.
In his response, the Leader of the House, Hon. Pascal Emeluaha, commended the chairman’s visionary leadership and developmental strides across the wards.
He assured that the legislature would give the budget prompt attention in the interest of the people of Isoko North.
