The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Comrade Friday Warri has commended the new Provost of Delta State University, Oleh Campus, Professor Austin Atunuje for his forthrightness, commitment and dedication to his duties.
Comrade Warri gave the commendation in his Office at Oleh on Tuesday 24 February, 2026 when he played host to the Provost of Oleh Campus of the Delta State University, Prof. Austin Atunuje that paid him a courtesy visit.
The Council Chairman who was visibly elated, urged the Provost to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the areas of academics and infrastructural development of the Campus .
He however, eulogized Prof. Atunujeās academic proficiency and expressed confidence that with Prof. Austin Atunuje as Provost of Oleh Campus, the University would witness unprecedented development that will equal other universities across the country.
The Chairman therefore, pledged to synergies with the University in capacity building, provision of Solar light, security amongst others after due consultation with the management team.
Hon. Warri therefore wished the new Provost a fruitful tenure in office and challenged him to leave a lasting legacy in the sand of time as an indigene of Isoko South Local Government.
Earlier in his remarks, Professor Austin Atunuje went memory lane to relate a brief history of the establishment of the Oleh Campus by late Chief Felix Ibru administration as Governor of Delta State.
The Provost however, sued for collaboration from the Local Government with the view of giving the Campus a face lift to an enviable status.
Additionally, the Provost solicited Isoko South Local Government management support towards opening up the Campus expanse of land that spans from the Law Faculty to Oleh ā Emede axis of the Ogbemudia road for easy developmental purposes.
Present during the Provost visit were Hon.Theresa IkrikeĀ Vice Chairman of Isoko South Local Government, Hon Zino Osuofaa, Secretary to the Local Government and Supervisory Councillors.
Others on the part of the Provost were the Dean of Engineering, Professor K M Oghenejabor, the Librarian, Dr Akporobore Daniel, the Bursar Mr. Martins Denedo, and Dr Peter Osame amongst other management staff of the institution.
