A Delta State journalist, Chief Mrs. Oghenero Efenure Omatseye, has declared her intention to contest the councilorship seat for Ward 8 in Ethiope East Local Government Area, pledging to drive grassroots development.
Efenure made her ambition known after consulting political leaders and stakeholders across the ward and the local government, receiving support from residents who see her as a fresh and credible candidate.

With over 20 years of experience in journalism, covering areas such as politics, health, and education, Efenure said she understands the needs of the people and is ready to serve.
She listed her priorities to include improved road infrastructure, youth empowerment, and better access to healthcare services in Ward 8.
Efenure also emphasized the need to connect leaders with the grassroots, noting that the councilorship position is an opportunity to understand and address the real needs of the people.
