The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has commended Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for placing high priority on educational reforms as Southern Delta University, Ozoro, held its maiden convocation ceremony.
The colourful ceremony, held at the university campus in Ozoro, attracted top government officials, academics, captains of industry, and distinguished guests from different parts of the state and beyond.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ogorugba praised Governor Oborevwori for his strong commitment to education under the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.
He described education as a key driver of development, progress, and long-term success, noting that the Governor’s consistent support for the sector has created better opportunities for youths across Delta State.
The council chairman said the Governor’s result-oriented policies continue to build a solid foundation for future generations, stressing that celebrating academic excellence reflects a government that truly values growth and advancement.
Hon. Ogorugba also congratulated the graduating students on the successful completion of their studies and encouraged them to remain focused as they begin a new phase of life.
He further appreciated the Vice Chancellor, Jacob Snapps Oboreh, for his dedication and prudent management of the institution’s resources, describing his leadership as instrumental to the steady development of the university.
Other dignitaries at the ceremony included the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor; Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Jonathan Ukodhiko; Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Emu; and Chairman of Isoko South LGA, Warri Ovoke, among others.
