Residents of Ughelli North Local Government Area are to participate in the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise scheduled for Saturday, 28th February, 2026, from 6:00am to 10:00am.
The directive which was issued by the Executive Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo and signed by Pastor Goodluck Irikefe Unuavworho
Secretary to the Local Government, called on all residents, business owners, traders, community leaders, and stakeholders across the council area to take part fully in the exercise.
During the sanitation period, all shops and business premises in affected areas must remain closed. Residents are expected to clean their surroundings and properly dispose of waste to promote a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment.
However, Ughelli Main Town (Metropolis) has been exempted from this month’s sanitation due to a Special Prayer Programme holding on the same day. Movement and business activities will continue as normal within the main town.
All other communities, including Agbarha Main Town and surrounding villages, are required to comply strictly with the sanitation order.
Security agencies and environmental task forces will be on ground to monitor and enforce compliance.
The council urged residents to cooperate, stressing that collective effort is key to building a cleaner Ughelli North.
