According to sources, the woman, a mother of two, had long accused her husband of having an extramarital affair with another woman. On the fateful day, the husband returned home drunk, and in a fit of rage, his wife attacked him with a machete, striking him multiple times on the skull and causing his instant death.
Unsatisfied with her violent outburst, the woman continued her rampage, attacking a female neighbor who tried to intervene. The neighbor suffered severe jaw injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. The enraged wife then proceeded to her husband’s alleged mistress’s house, where she used a hammer to inflict severe head injuries on the woman.
A third woman, who heard the commotion and attempted to escape, narrowly avoided being attacked. The noise from the incident eventually attracted attention, leading to the woman’s arrest.
The suspect is currently being held at the Ughelli Area Command, and an investigation is ongoing. When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, was unavailable for comment. However, a senior security source from the Delta State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect is in custody, with further investigations underway.
