The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has publicly endorsed Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive for a return to the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Waive, who currently represents Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Rules and Business in the 10th National Assembly, is seeking a third term in office, with a promise to consolidate on the gains of his previous two terms.
Izeze made his position known in a strongly worded post on his Facebook page, declaring his unwavering support for the lawmaker. In the statement, the commissioner affirmed that he stands firmly with Waive’s re-election bid, describing his endorsement as a personal and ideological decision.
He, however, noted that his support remains contingent on continued respect for the leadership and constitutional authority of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, whom he described as his “boss, elder brother and leader.”
The commissioner emphasized his loyalty to the governor, stressing that he does not serve multiple political interests.
According to him, his political alignment is clear and singular, reaffirming his commitment to Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.
Izeze also revealed that he had personally communicated his stance to another aspirant, Mr. Samuel Mariere, whom he described as a close associate, appreciating his understanding despite the differing political positions.
In the post, the commissioner hinted at the potential impact of direct primaries in determining party candidates, suggesting that the process would be decisive in shaping the contest.
His endorsement adds to the growing political momentum around Waive’s third-term ambition, as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the 2027 elections in Delta State.
