Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu.
Guwor, who is also the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, condoled with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, Tajudeen Abbas, over the tragic loss.
Dunkwu, a native of Ute-Okpu in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday, March 7, 2026, after a brief illness with no prior signs of sickness.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor described the news of Dunkwu’s death as shocking and painful.
He noted that the late Deputy Chief of Staff was known for his dedication to duty, professionalism and strong support for legislative development.
Guwor also extended condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Ute-Okpu community, the people of Ika North East Local Government Area and the Ika Federal Constituency, describing Dunkwu as a worthy ambassador of the Ika nation.
He prayed that God grants the family, friends and associates of the deceased the strength to bear the loss and eternal rest for the departed soul.
