Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta South Senatorial District will gather in Oleh on Friday, May 1, 2026, as Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas formally declares his intention to seek a second term in the National Assembly.
The event, scheduled to hold at Oleh Township Stadium by 11:00 a.m., is expected to draw key party figures from across the eight local government areas in the district, signaling the start of intensified political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A formal notice issued on behalf of the senator and signed by Emma Amgbaduba invited State Working Committee and State Executive Committee members, local government chairmen and their executives, as well as ward leaders, to attend the declaration.
Party sources indicate that the gathering will serve as a platform to consolidate grassroots mobilization and strengthen internal cohesion within the APC in Delta South.
The notice emphasized unity among party faithful, describing the event as a critical moment for aligning strategies toward electoral success and sustained development in the district.
Organizers also noted that the declaration aligns with the party’s broader “Renewed Hope for M.O.R.E. Agenda,” linking national objectives with local development goals.
The Oleh convergence is expected to set the tone for political alliances and campaign structures as the APC prepares for the upcoming electoral cycle.
