Okpe Council Boss Esiovwa Presents #19.372bn Budget For The Year 2026.

The executive chairman Okpe local government area of Delta State, Hon ( Chief ) Isaiah Onoriode Esiovwa JP has presented a budget of nineteen billion, three hundred and seventy two million, seven hundred and ninety one thousand, eight hundred and fifty eight naira, seventy six kobo, (#19,372,791,858.76) for the 2026 fiscal year,
The budget titled budget of Consolidation and development which collectively resolved to consolidate on the gains of the past years while accelerating sustainable development that touches the lives of the every citizens in Okpe local government area,
This was revealed by Okakuro Esiovwa, during the budget presentation to the legislative arm on Tuesday 21st April 2026 at the legislative chambers at Orereokpe, Okpe Local Government Area,
According to Esiovwa, ” this budget is tagged Budget of Consolidation and development because it is aimed at consolidating on previous achievements, as well as the implementation of newly identified projects as it affects, sports development, health care, education, economic agricultural empowerments, water resources and rural developments, environment, agriculture amongst others,
He said, ” these achievements were possible because of the cooperation of this honourable house and the resilience of our people, the 2026 budget is therefore a bridge consolidating what we started and scaling up development where it matters most,”
He said the period under review, the council witnessed the execution and completion of many laudable projects and many ongoing across the local government,
The National Organizing Secretary of ALGON said, ” we will focus greatly on human capital development to enable our people fit into the present technological development of the larger society”,
The Delta State ALGON Chairman equally use the opportunity to solicit for corporation of the Honourable house to engender peace in their respective wards as well as to assist this government to effectively key into the M.O.R.E agenda of Governor Sherriff Oborevwori to ensure sustainable, economic and social development of Okpe local government area and prayed for quick passage of the budget,
The council boss also commended the leader and members of Okpe Legislative Arm for their unflinching support since the beginning of his second tenure in office,
He noted that his administration will not hesitate to embark on any project that will be of tremendous and immediate benefit to the people of the local government area,
Esiovwa said the budget, which is slightly higher than the 2025 estimate with 2.2 percent increase, was based on revenue projection from the federal government, internal revenue, statutory, VAT share, other FAAC allocations, state allocation as well as aids and grants,
He listed some of the key completed and ongoing projects, among the completed projects are, construction of modern bus stop at Okuetolor and Ajaguoyibo Junction, renovation of classroom blocks, toilets and extension of existing water scheme at Ometa Primary School Ughoton and Ogoni Primary School Aghalokpe, Supply and installation of Solar light System at Okuabude Primary Health Care Centre,
rehabilitation of Primary Health Care Centre at Ughoton,
Renovation and conversion of existing electricity-powered water scheme at Kpokpogiri and Alolodje Communities, Solar-powered water schemes at Osubi, Orerokpe and Amua-Okpokpo, provision and installation of 500KVA and 300KVA transformers and accessories at Okemuhwa and Okorikperhe Communities, renovation of toilets and construction of electricity powered water scheme at Orhue secondary school Mereje,
Solar-powered street lights at Udu/Uvwie Street Orerokpe and Egborode communities, supply of school desks to Jeddo Secondary School and Ovwori Primary School, construction of modern gate and security house at Okpe Council Secretariat Orerokpe, renovation of 1 unit open market store at Oviri-Okpe, emergency flood remedial work at Aghalokpe town,
While ongoing projects are, construction of a Cottage hospital at Jeddo, tiling and renovation of town hall at Adagbrassa-Ugolo, renovation of 1 unit block of open market store at Umiaghwa town, rehabilitation of Chairman’s official quarters, purchase/installation of furniture and equipments for the Okpe local government legislative arm chamber among constituency projects across all wards in the local government area,
In their response, the councillors expressed their satisfaction with the huge successes recorded by the Esiovwa led administration and promised to always support him and also give the budget a speedy passage.
